Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center – Duluth, MN

Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a dependable, caring, and team-oriented Cook to join our Dietary team. The Cook plays an important role in providing nutritious, appetizing meals to our residents while maintaining high standards for food safety, sanitation, and resident satisfaction.

• Position: Cook

• Location: Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center – Duluth, MN

• Department: Dietary

• Schedule: Full-time, part-time, and/or flexible scheduling available

• Shift: Various shifts may be available, including weekends and holidays

• Starting Wage : $19, wage based on experience

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.

• Prepare food in appropriate quantities while maintaining quality and presentation.

• Follow residents' prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary needs.

• Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.

• Assist with meal service and ensure meals are served accurately and on time.

• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.

• Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to the Dietary Manager.

• Keep kitchen, equipment, work areas, and food preparation areas clean and sanitary.

• Follow infection control and workplace safety procedures.

• Work cooperatively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.

• Provide friendly and respectful service to residents and respond appropriately to their needs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous cooking experience preferred, especially in a healthcare, senior living, restaurant, or institutional setting.

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.

• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.

• Positive attitude and willingness to work with residents and coworkers.

• Ability to remain organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, carry, and move kitchen supplies as required.
