Job Title: CNC Machinist Parts Feeder
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Supervisor / General Manager

Job Summary
The CNC Machinist Parts Feeder supports CNC machine and automatic screw machine operations by feeding raw material (bar stock, wire, or blanks) into machines, monitoring parts as they are produced, and performing basic in-process quality checks. This role ensures continuous machine uptime and helps maintain the flow of conforming parts through the production process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Load raw material (bar stock, coil, or pre-cut blanks) into CNC lathes, screw machines, or feeding mechanisms per work instructions
• Monitor machine operation and material feed to prevent jams, stock-outs, or misfeeds
• Remove finished/in-process parts from machines, collection bins, or conveyors
• Perform basic visual inspection and simple dimensional checks (calipers, go/no-go gauges) to catch obvious nonconformances
• Segregate suspect or nonconforming parts per L1F's nonconforming material procedure; notify Machine Operator/Setup person or Quality immediately
• Maintain accurate production counts and complete required production/traveler paperwork
• Keep work area clean and organized (5S); dispose of chips/scrap per procedure
• Assist Machine Operators/CNC Machinists with routine tasks (deburring, part washing, packaging) as needed
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout awareness around rotating equipment
• Maintain part traceability and lot integrity per ISO 9001 and customer flow-down requirements
• Report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or quality concerns promptly
• Ensure specification conformance of product, process, and workmanship
• Must be able to refer to drawings, sketches, manuals, books, charts, military specifications and process sheets

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior manufacturing/production experience helpful but not required; will train
• Ability to read basic work instructions, travelers, and simple blueprints
• Basic math skills (counting, simple measurement reading)
• Attention to detail and reliability — this role directly affects part traceability and quality on defense/aerospace hardware
• Must be able to work safely around moving machinery

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
• Frequent lifting/carrying of material up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive motion (loading/unloading parts)
• Exposure to machine coolant, oil, and metal chips/debris
• Must wear required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, etc.)
• Must be able to work in an environment subject to seasonal temperature extremes, including heat and humidity in summer and cold in winter.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery noise, coolant/oil, and metal shavings
• Climate may vary
