Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Beginning this November and continuing through the end of the school year, you’ll have an impact on young learners in an itinerant position across Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties. This flexible contract opportunity is open to both part-time and full-time candidates—if your passion is fostering student growth, there’s a place for you.
Ideal candidates bring previous experience or formal training supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Your commitment to individualized instruction and collaboration is essential for helping diverse learners succeed.
Qualifications:
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged students in educational settings
- Ability to travel between sites within Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Responsive, adaptive approach to student needs
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain documentation and support IEP processes
- Available to start in November and continue through end of school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to maximize student access and outcomes
- Develop and adapt instructional materials based on students’ needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, data collection, and progress reporting
- Travel to multiple sites within the three-county region (no virtual service delivery at this time)
