EVS Specialist - Housekeeping

Springtree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke, VA is seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team as a Housekeeper. As a Housekeeper, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. Working under the direction of the Housekeeping / Environmental Services Director, you'll ensure resident rooms and common areas are kept to the highest standards to help our center meet its commitment of providing Care Beyond Compare. - Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas according to established schedules and procedures.
- Dust, wipe, and disinfect furniture, fixtures, surfaces, and high-touch areas throughout the facility.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in assigned areas on a daily basis.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with facility policies and infection control standards.
- Clean and disinfect resident bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors.
- Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies in resident rooms and common areas as needed.
- Mix and use cleaning chemicals and solutions safely and according to manufacturer guidelines and OSHA standards.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and supply closets in a clean and organized manner.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
- Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and special cleaning requests throughout the facility.
- Follow all facility policies regarding infection control, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous waste disposal.
- Interact with residents, families, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Understanding of proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established cleaning schedules.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
