Cardiac Device Registered Nurse - 254028

Overview The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients while adhering to compliance standards. This candidate should be able to recognize patient needs and prioritize those needs. Responsibilities Deliver Comprehensive Cardiac Care: Manage specialized care for patients with implantable cardiac devices (ICDs, pacemakers) and complex cardiac needs within the clinic and via telehealth. Device Testing & Data Interpretation: Conduct thorough system evaluations, interrogate devices, and interpret diagnostic data to ensure optimal functionality. Remote Monitoring Coordination: Oversee and execute remote follow-up schedules utilizing industry platforms including Latitude, Carelink, Merlin, and Biotronik. AV Optimization: Collaborate with Echocardiography and ECG teams to assist with Atrioventricular (AV) optimization procedures. Advanced ECG Diagnostics: Perform ECG tracings, accurately interpret intermediate-to-advanced rhythms, and execute standard clinical response protocols for each rhythm. Arrhythmia Classification: Evaluate and classify cardiac arrhythmias, assessing the clinical effectiveness of prescribed therapies. Electrophysiology (EP) Collaboration: Promptly recognize and address device issues—including inappropriate detection, therapy delivery, or therapy failure—directly with the EP physician. Wound Management: Assess post-operative device sites to identify potential complications early, collaborating with physicians to develop targeted care plans. Telephone Triage: Efficiently triage incoming ICD, pacemaker, and electrophysiology patient calls, telephonically assessing device function and referring urgent concerns appropriately. Patient & Family Education: Counsel patients and families regarding device functionality, remote monitoring expectations, and both short- and long-term plans of care. Advisory & Recall Communication: Proactively identify patient populations affected by device advisories, recalls, or alerts, and clearly communicate management plans to patients. Clinical Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all patient visits, device evaluations, testing outcomes, and diagnostic summaries. Advisory & Equipment Maintenance: Manage documentation for manufacturer device alerts, and oversee the maintenance, testing, and software updates of clinic device equipment. Qualifications Must have direct experience interrogating cardiac devices. 2 to 3 years of experience Experience must come from an outpatient cardiology setting, hospital cardiology testing department, EP lab, or device industry (e.g., Clinical Cardiac Specialists from Medtronic). Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; RN with ASN or BSN Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart, cardiac electrophysiology and rhythm interpretation Knowledge of modes of pacing, ICD arrhythmia detection parameters and therapy options Strong EKG/arrhythmia interpretation skills; effective communication skills, database management, and problem solving skills required #J-18808-Ljbffr Medix™
