Lead Business Execution Consultant - Payment Initiation and Network Gateway Capability Lead, Payments Transformation

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking two Lead Business Execution Consultants to join the Payments Change Delivery team . These positions will support a critical workstream of the Payments Transformation program to migrate from an antiquated legacy environment to a modern, AI enabled, distributed architecture ecosystem while enabling Payments Operations to transition to a target-state operating model.

One of these strategically critical roles will drive operational product leadership for the Payment Initiation and Network Gateway capability, with the other leading the Payment Processing Execution capability.

In this role, you will:

• Lead operational readiness activities for Payments Operations teams, ensuring successful implementation of platform enhancements and releases through coordination of production parallel testing events, support for operational procedure and job aid development, assessment of process and control impacts, and validation of business readiness to ensure effective execution and risk mitigation.
• Define, refine, and prioritize the team backlog aligned with Program PI objectives
• Write clear features for dev team to decompose into user stories, define acceptance criteria, and ensure business context
• Work with the team to scope iteration goals and balance capacity vs. commitment
• Manage the Jira backlog and ensure proper Jira hygiene
• Identify opportunities to leverage capabilities across value streams
• Lead support functions or operations for multiple business groups and contribute to large scale strategic initiatives
• Ensure efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness of solutions, and pipeline management relating to assigned operations
• Research moderately complex business, operational, and strategic initiatives that require analytical skills, basic knowledge of organizational strategy and Business Execution, and understanding of international business
• Work independently to make recommendations for support function by providing support and leadership
• Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of programs and initiatives that may include risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer experience
• Provide leadership in management of relationships and implementation of programs, services, and initiatives with cross functional business partners

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment
• 3+ years of payments, wires or operations experience preferred
• Experience acting as a product owner and/or providing production support, writing stories in Jira, and working with Scrum teams
• Demonstrated knowledge of high-value real-time gross settlement (RTGS) payment systems, including Fedwire and CHIPS, the SWIFT network, and ISO 20022 payment messaging standards, with specific expertise in payment message types such as pacs.008 (Customer Credit Transfer), pacs.009 (Financial Institution Credit Transfer), and pacs.004 (Payment Return).
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously, effectively resolving competing objectives, priorities and conflicts as they arise
• Demonstrated experience leading the definition and delivery of large-scale complex and strategic initiatives from inception to implementation
• Knowledge and understanding of complex IT environments: cross-functional areas, large number of interfaces and data sources
• Good understanding of agile/product metrics and instrumentation
• Experience managing product backlogs and aligning stakeholders on prioritization tradeoffs
• Knowledge and understanding of operational processes and operational risk management
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
• Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high-demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
• Translate complex operational, technology, and risk-related issues into clear, concise executive summaries, enabling senior leadership to quickly understand impacts, risks, key decisions, and remediation plans to support informed decision-making.

Job Expectations:

• Supports requirements definition via operational stakeholder elicitation, collaboration with Tech partners on black-box testing, and analysis of data to derive requirements
• Serve as the operational requirements lead for assigned features, driving comprehensive analysis, due diligence, and problem definition to produce high-quality requirements that reduce ambiguity, support decision-making, and facilitate efficient technology delivery.
• Collaborate closely with Dev Team partners to refine feature requirements and support translation into user stories
• Identify cross-impacts/interdependencies and collaborate with Value Stream Leads and Capability Product Managers to manage effectively
• Acts as proxy for customers and business stakeholders within the team
• Ensures deliverables support capability, product, or value stream outcomes
• Work effectively in a global environment, collaborating across time zones and maintaining flexibility to support production parallel testing, release activities, and production deployments including evenings, weekends, or other critical implementation windows as needed.
• Thrive in a dynamic and complex environment by leveraging strategic thinking, challenging existing processes and assumptions, and driving innovative, simplified solutions that enhance operational effectiveness, reduce complexity, and improve business outcomes.
• This position offers a hybrid work schedule for three days in office two days remote

• Candidate must reside within a reasonable commute to a location listed in the posting

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $119,000.00 - $206,000.00
