Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation and evaluation of nursing staffAssists with orientation of nursing personnelParticipates in family/resident counselingResponds to emergency calls as necessaryFunctions in the capacity of DON in his/her absenceAssures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident careSome "on call" is requiredAssures timelines of physician visitsAccompanies physicians when making roundsNotifies physician and family of changes in resident's conditionEncourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents' independenceAssures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical suppliesAssists DON in developing and implementing policies and proceduresAssists in infection control, safety and pharmacy rounds and auditsAttends in-service training and education sessions as assignedPerforms specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisorOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:Maintains current state license as a Licensed Professional Nurse or a Professional Registered Nurse per state regulations.Experience in the Skilled Nursing/LTC industries.Two (2) years experience as a Licensed NurseOne (1) year nursing management experienceMust demonstrate competence in assessment skills, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage.If having a direct impact on the lives of others is appealing to you, apply today and join our team!
