Job Summary:
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Tech in San Luis Obispo, California. This position requires a qualified healthcare professional with at least two years of operating room experience. The role involves supporting high-volume orthopedic, general, gynecological, pediatric, and eye cases, with occasional cardiac procedures. The technician will work eight-hour shifts with variable start times and be part of a fast-paced surgical team.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts with variable start times, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), BLS Certification, minimum of 2 years of operating room experience, California license to submit.
• Certifications: BLS Certification, CST.
• Experience: At least 2 years of operating room experience required.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit handles 15-20 cases per day across various specialties, primarily orthopedic, general, gynecology, pediatrics, and ophthalmology.
  • Cardiac cases are not assigned to travelers.
  • No float rotation; orientation depends on skillset.
  • Scrubbing is preferred for registered nurses but not mandatory.
  • On-call duty includes one night per week, 24/7 on-call hours, with a 30-minute response time.
  • Holidays are only worked in emergencies.
  • Scrubs are provided; no specific color required.
  • Equipment used includes autoclaves (Steris & V-pro).
