Ranger 

Position: Ranger 
Employment Type: Part-time, Seasonal or Year-Round (based on availability and performance) 
Schedule: On-site, flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on availability and business needs. Preference given to candidates who can consistently work 3 shifts per week (including 1 weekend day).  
Compensation: starting at $11-13/hour

Vitense Golfland is a family-owned entertainment destination that’s been part of the Madison community since 1955. Founded by George and Odie Vitense, the business is now proudly owned and operated by the 3rd and 4th generations of the Vitense family, continuing a long tradition of creating fun, memorable experiences for guests of all ages. 

Our facility includes a  Top 50 golf range , a lit par-3 golf course,   three miniature golf courses , a restaurant and bar , quick-service dining options, Odie’s Beer Garden, batting cages , the Vitense Golf Academy, and more. Vitense Golfland is seeking attentive, proactive, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as  Rangers! Rangers play a crucial role in ensuring safety and providing excellent guest experiences across our entire facility. 

About the Role:

Rangers must be knowledgeable about the rules and safety regulations for all amenities at Vitense Golfland and monitor customer activity to ensure guests are safely and responsibly enjoying the facility. This role requires  strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist in multiple areas as needed . This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to be physically active, can quickly problem-solve, and excels working with others.  

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Safety & Guest Monitoring 

• Ensure the safety of all guests by monitoring activity in all areas to prevent unsafe behavior and respond quickly to any concerns. 
• Politely and professionally address guests who do not follow safety guidelines. 
• Perform routine checks on equipment and facilities to identify and report potential hazards. 
• Patrol the property continuously to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. 

Facility Areas Covered 

Rangers are responsible for monitoring safety and cleanliness across the entire property, including but not limited to: 

• Indoor & Outdoor Miniature Golf 
• Par 3 Golf Course 
• Batting Cages 
• Golf Range 

Guest Interaction & Customer Service 

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service. 
• Answer guest questions about facility rules, amenities, and equipment usage. 
• Assist customers in learning how to use various equipment properly and safely. 
• Help monitor wait times for activities and communicate with the front counter to manage guest flow. 

Facility Maintenance & Support 

• Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and perform basic troubleshooting when needed. 
• Clean up trash and debris throughout the property to maintain a clean and inviting environment. 
• Assist with Golf Academy duties and general maintenance tasks as assigned. 
• Support other departments and fill in as needed for different roles at the facility. 

Qualifications & Skills:

• Willingness to learn about safety regulations and enforce rules with professionalism. 
• Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team. 
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.  
• Comfort working in an active, fast-paced environment.
