Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounting processes while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP), strong Excel skills, and a process-oriented approach to accounting tasks.

Position Details

Direct Hire Opportunity Pay: $23/hr Schedule: Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable
  • Perform accurate voucher entry and maintain organized AP records.
  • Complete 3-way invoice matching to verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation.
  • Reconcile company credit card transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and build check runs according to established payment schedules.
  • Process and cut checks while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Accounts Receivable
  • Accurately enter and apply customer payments.
  • Process remote deposits and maintain accurate deposit records.
  • Prepare and file required sales tax returns.
  • Enter daily accounting transactions and reconcile activity to daily transaction sheets.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies as needed.
• Payroll
  • Enter and maintain employee timesheet information accurately.
  • Complete new hire entry and maintain accurate employee payroll records.
  • Prepare and print payroll checks.
  • Process ACH payroll deposits and ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule.

Additional Requirements

Previous accounting experience with exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP) is required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Process-oriented mindset with the ability to follow established procedures. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams. Strong communication skills and professional demeanor. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and payroll information.
