Yard Jockey @ $24 p/h

Reports To: 3rd Warehouse Supervisor - 8pm To 4am (Until Jobs Done)

SUMMARY

Working on the night shift, maneuvering straight trucks (GVWR <26,000 pounds) into a bay to be loaded. Yard Jockey also assists in loading the trucks. Dock operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maneuvering trucks in and out of loading dock area to necessitate loading of product for delivery in the morning.

• Starting and monitoring refrigeration units on trucks.

• Ability to report to work on time as scheduled. Must be available nights, Sunday - Friday 8pm - until job is done.

• Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisor(s) and fellow coworkers.

• Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate authority immediately.

• Must pay exceptional attention to detail.

• Assist with loading of trucks.

• Wrap pallets prior to loading on truck (manually).

• Put away Produce load.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, write and receive instruction in English.

Ability to perform basic math functions.

Experience in utilizing Windows based computer applications a plus.

Class B (airbrakes) CDL preferred.

Experience operating straight trucks required.

Experience working in refrigerated, food/beverage warehouse preferred.
