Role SummaryWe are looking for a Lead Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality software solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams while contributing to scalable and reliable systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable and reliable software solutionsContribute to system architecture, design reviews, and technical decision‑makingWrite clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practicesParticipate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peersTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stackCollaborate with product owners, architects, and cross‑functional teamsacross multiple geographic locationsSupport CI/CD pipelines, automation, and operational excellenceEnsure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline10+ years of experience in software development with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) on Unix/Linux platformsSolid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithmsExperience with APIs, microservices, and distributed systemsExperience with AWS cloud platform and containerization technologiesExperience with version control systems and Agile development practicesStrong problem‑solving and communication skillsExperience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiativesKnowledge of security best practices and secure coding standardsExposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, and infrastructure automationExpectations at Lead Developer LevelDemonstrates technical ownership and accountabilityProactively identifies and addresses technical risksContributes to continuous improvement and engineering standardsActs as a role model for engineering best practicesThe estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $121,564.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to $225,762.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
