Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, working the night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM. This role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in a critical access hospital setting with Level IV trauma designation and specialized cardiac and stroke care centers.

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Emergency Department Director, you will deliver general nursing care using sound judgment and nursing principles. Your responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, assisting providers during patient examinations, and accurately documenting all aspects of patient care. You will develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission and ensure compliance with nursing standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
• Provide timely and accurate information to healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepare equipment and assist providers during patient treatments and examinations.
• Document patient care activities including vital signs, medications, and intake/output.
• Develop patient-specific care plans promptly after admission.
• Maintain fiscal responsibility by appropriately charging supplies and pharmacy items.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth.
• Engage in special projects and support departmental goals.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
• At least one year of experience as an RN in an emergency room setting is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Washington.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications are required.
• TNCC certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.
• Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care.
• Respect for patient privacy and adherence to HIPAA standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
