Maintenance Supervisor

Insight Textiles is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance activities at our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for maintaining production equipment, facility systems, utilities, and supporting infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and coordinate the maintenance team, prioritize and schedule maintenance work, manage preventive maintenance activities, troubleshoot equipment problems, coordinate outside contractors, and work closely with production management to minimize equipment downtime.

This is a working supervisory position requiring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities along with the leadership skills necessary to manage maintenance personnel, projects, contractors, and plant priorities. The successful candidate should be comfortable working alongside the maintenance team and personally assisting with troubleshooting and repairs when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, train, and develop plant maintenance personnel.
• Plan, prioritize, schedule, and assign preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and controls-related equipment problems.
• Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.
• Maintain and repair production machinery, motors, drives, pumps, valves, piping, electrical systems, and related equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production to minimize downtime and interruptions to manufacturing schedules.
• Develop and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Maintain appropriate inventories of critical spare parts and initiate purchase requisitions when needed.
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors performing maintenance, repair, installation, and facility work.
• Support plant utility systems, including steam generation, compressed air, HVAC, water systems, wastewater treatment equipment, cooling systems, and other facility infrastructure.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, fabrication, machine improvements, and capital projects.
• Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support the maintenance and reliable operation of systems associated with wastewater, potable water, stormwater, boilers, air emissions, cooling towers, and other plant utilities.
• Review operational reports associated with wastewater and other facility systems and work with responsible personnel to identify and address equipment-related issues.
• Maintain knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment to improve equipment reliability, operating efficiency, and maintenance cost.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Safety, and plant management to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Maintain maintenance records and help track equipment downtime, preventive maintenance completion, recurring failures, and other maintenance performance measures.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management of maintenance employees.
• Respond to emergency equipment and facility issues as required, including significant issues occurring outside normal working hours.

Qualifications

• Strong industrial maintenance background in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems, motors, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and related equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs and industrial control systems preferred. Advanced PLC programming experience is not required, but PLC programming knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with pumps, valves, pneumatic systems, steam systems, boilers, HVAC, compressed air, and other plant utilities preferred.
• Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to personally participate in equipment troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems systematically and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs in an operating manufacturing facility.
• Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance employees, production personnel, management, vendors, and contractors.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, equipment reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree or technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent industrial maintenance experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience preferred, including experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Previous supervisory, leadership, or team-lead experience preferred.

We are looking for someone who can organize maintenance activities, develop employees, coordinate with production, manage contractors and projects, and improve preventive maintenance and equipment reliability—but who is also willing and able to personally troubleshoot equipment and help get production back up and running when problems occur.

The successful candidate will be safety-minded, dependable, technically capable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where equipment reliability is critical to the operation.
