# Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with payroll and tax experience to support our accounting department year-round and assist with tax preparation tax season.

This is not simply a payroll position. We are looking for someone with a solid accounting foundation who can grow into a larger advisory and tax role over time.

## Primary Responsibilities

# Payroll

* Payroll processing

* Quarterly Federal and State payroll tax filings

* Annual payroll filings (940, W-2, W-3)

* Payroll account setup

* Payroll tax notice resolution

# Sales & Use Tax

* State registrations

* Monthly and quarterly sales tax filings

* Sales tax reconciliations

# Tax Preparation

* Individual tax returns (1040)

* Business tax returns (1120S, 1065, 1120)

* Tax organizers

* Workpaper preparation

* IRS and state notice assistance

# Accounting Support

* Monthly bookkeeping

* Bank and credit card reconciliations

* Month-end close

* Financial statement preparation

* General ledger maintenance

* Journal entries

## Qualifications

Required:

* Strong accounting knowledge

* Experience with bookkeeping and reconciliations

* Payroll processing experience

* Experience preparing payroll tax filings

* Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills

* Excellent attention to detail

* Reliable internet and quiet home office

Preferred:

* QuickBooks Online

* U.S. accounting experience

* U.S. payroll experience

* U.S. tax preparation experience

* Sales tax filing experience

# Schedule
