Nuclear Medicine Technologist Position Overview: As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist , you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials and specialized equipment. Your work will directly support the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions, including cancers, heart disease, and neurological disorders. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient care. Key Responsibilities:

- Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in accordance with safety protocols and physician orders.
- Imaging Procedures: Conduct various nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT, PET scans, bone scans, cardiac imaging, and thyroid scans.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, providing clear explanations of procedures and addressing any patient concerns.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment, including cameras, computers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Radiation Safety: Follow all safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document procedures, radiopharmaceutical dosages, and patient information in the electronic medical record. Work with physicians and radiologists to interpret results and provide comprehensive imaging reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality diagnostic results.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control programs to ensure the accuracy of imaging procedures and the proper function of equipment.
- Current Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) .
- State of Ohio Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (or eligibility to obtain).
- Associate's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Experience with nuclear medicine equipment, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging procedures.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety practices and regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex protocols.
- Additional certifications such as PET/CT or cardiac imaging.
- 2+ years of experience in nuclear medicine, particularly in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures or therapeutic nuclear medicine.
- Experience with imaging software and electronic medical records (EMRs).
