Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent business in the Lee County MS area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team! This customer is offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing! This is a direct hire opportunity.


Staff Accountant Job Summary:


• Pay: Salaried


• Shifts Available:


o 1st shift Monday- Friday 8am-5pm (over time may be required)
Qualifications

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Support inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, cycle count analysis, and physical inventory audits.
• Monitor and maintain standard cost records and assist with cost accounting functions.
• Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, and overhead variances.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing required documentation and schedules.
• Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased financial controls.
• Collaborate with operations, purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

• Required Experience
  
  
• Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience, within a manufacturing environment. -preferred

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of accounting software, or general ledger applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and operational priorities.
