Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder.
• Manage dual diagnosis patients, providing detox services while addressing mental health concerns.
• Care for medically acute patients, including IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care.
• Utilize the EPIC EMR system for accurate and effective charting.
• Administer medications using the Omni Cell automatic medication dispensing system.
• Assume the role of charge nurse as needed, overseeing unit operations.
• Complete patient admissions and discharges efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years inpatient adult psych experience.
• Proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and understanding of their side effects.
• Competency in the use of IV pumps and diabetic patient care.
• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights.
• Ability to float between units as required.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations.
• Understanding of inpatient rights related to restraint and seclusion, and legal statuses.
