Environmental Aide I - PT (7:00am-3:00pm) CMC

Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) Atlantic Health is seeking an Environmental Aide I in the Environmental Services Department at Chilton Medical Center. Required hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, including alternating weekends. Starting rate: $18.50 per hour. The position is part‑time (22.5 hours per week) and is located at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, NJ. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patient rooms, and other designated facility areas, including floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture, etc. Follows department policies and procedures for cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorization. Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner. Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift. Removes all trash and linen within the hospital. Prepares cleaning solutions and handles bio‑hazard materials according to directions. Performs periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area. Reports any repairs to maintenance. Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings. Handles moderately complex issues and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff. Provides service at Union Campus as required. Includes cleaning of bodily fluids. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements HS diploma or GED/Equivalent required or to be obtained within one year of employment. Must be able to read, write, and speak English to provide a safe environment for patients. Solid work history is a must. Must meet fit‑testing requirements. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lb. Relevant Experience Prior experience in housekeeping in a hospital, institutional setting, or related field is preferred. Prior floor‑care experience is preferred.
