GIS Analyst

Salary: $53,000 - 56,000 per year

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field, plus at least 2 years of GIS experience; relevant internships, practicum work, or equivalent experience may count. Alternatively, an associate degree plus at least 4 years of GIS-related project experience and relevant coursework in a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and technical training may be considered. Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire. GIS certification (such as GISP, a GIS certificate, or an Esri technical certification) is preferred, or the ability to obtain an applicable certification within 1 year of hire. Water Distribution and/or Water Treatment Operator Certification is also preferred. Working knowledge of GIS principles, spatial data management, cartography, data visualization, and spatial analysis; demonstrated experience with Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or a comparable platform, as well as GPS, mapping, and data-collection tools. Ability to independently analyze, validate, organize, and maintain geospatial data; create accurate maps, reports, and GIS products; manage multiple assignments and deadlines; and work with limited supervision. Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and customer-service skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally with rural communities, utilities, local governments, and other partners. Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, acceptable driving record, and at least the state minimum personal liability auto insurance coverage. Must be authorized to work in the USA. Manage, maintain, validate, and improve GIS datasets; establish data-quality standards and address data integrity, integration, and technical issues. Create maps, dashboards, visualizations, reports, and other geospatial products for organizational programs, infrastructure planning, broadband initiatives, and community assessments. Conduct spatial analysis, data queries, calculations, research, and field data collection using GPS-enabled devices, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, and other GIS tools. Plan and coordinate GIS projects from data collection through completion, deliver accurate work on schedule, and provide technical guidance and recommendations to internal teams and external partners.
