Benefits Specialist

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Benefits Specialist on behalf of our client, an entertainment industry company. The Benefits Specialist will support the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement, leave, wellness, and time-off programs. This role serves as an important resource for employees and internal HR partners by ensuring benefits processes are accurate, timely, compliant, and service-oriented. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, responsive, and comfortable managing confidential information, recurring deadlines, and multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer routine benefits processes, including enrollment, eligibility, life event changes, billing support, vendor file reviews, employee data maintenance, and required documentation.
• Support the administration of health, welfare, retirement, leave, wellness, holiday, time-off, and related employee benefit programs.
• Review benefits data for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, coordinate corrections, and escalate complex matters when appropriate.
• Support new-hire and newly eligible benefits orientation, including enrollment guidance, materials distribution, eligibility confirmation, and required documentation.
• Assist with annual open enrollment, including preparation of materials, data coordination, system testing, employee communications, issue tracking, and post-enrollment review.
• Respond to employee questions regarding enrollment, eligibility, claims, plan changes, life events, leaves, and plan provisions.
• Provide timely, professional, and service-oriented support to employees, HR partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support benefits communications, including communication calendars, presentations, guides, FAQs, digital content, and employee education materials.
• Coordinate with benefit vendors, brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators regarding routine service issues, file feeds, billing questions, eligibility matters, and employee escalations.
• Track vendor follow-up items, document issue resolution, and communicate recurring trends or service concerns to benefits leadership.
• Partner with HR, payroll, HRIS, finance, and Total Rewards teams to support accurate and timely benefits processes.
• Support leave-of-absence and disability administration, including FMLA, medical, personal, disability, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with employees, HR partners, vendors, and benefits leadership to support timely and accurate leave and disability processing.
• Support benefits compliance activities, audits, reporting, regulatory filings, and required documentation.
• Assist with standard and ad hoc reporting related to utilization, enrollment, eligibility, billing, and program administration.
• Monitor routine process controls and help ensure benefits administration aligns with company policies, plan documents, and applicable regulations.
• Participate in benefits projects, program updates, vendor implementations, communications initiatives, and process improvement efforts.
• Identify opportunities to improve administrative efficiency, documentation, employee experience, and data quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements Include: Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field required.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience:

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in benefits, Human Resources, payroll, HRIS, Total Rewards, or employee support.
• Experience supporting benefits administration, employee inquiries, vendor coordination, data maintenance, open enrollment, reporting, or compliance-related processes.
• Experience working with confidential employee information is required.

Certifications:

• No specific certification required.
• Professional benefits or HR certifications are a plus.

Knowledge:

• Working knowledge of health, welfare, retirement, leave, wellness, time-off, and related employee benefit programs.
• General understanding of benefits laws and regulations, including:

  • IRS requirements
  • Department of Labor regulations
  • FMLA and leave-related requirements
• Understanding of benefits administration processes, vendor coordination, eligibility, enrollment, and benefits data management.
