Sr Product Manager Technical, External Services, AWS Billing Product Job ID: 10501149 | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. In this role you will own the billing and commercialization experience for the third-party foundation models AWS sells and hosts, and for their buyers. Some of it is in production today and serves the largest AI companies in the world. Some of it does not exist yet, and you will get in on the ground floor. You will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of what providers and buyers receive, and for how quickly a new provider goes from a signed agreement to accurate bills. As a Senior Product Manager Technical you will be part of the larger product leadership community at AWS. This community plays a critical role in broad business planning. It works closely with senior management to develop business targets and resource requirements, influences our long-term technical and business strategy, and helps us hire a talented team of product managers. You will become the subject matter expert for how AWS commercializes third-party models. A successful candidate brings judgment about systems where correctness is the product. You can read a commercial agreement and turn it into system requirements, and you are comfortable operating across organizations without authority over them. You will work with the teams that own metering, invoicing, pricing, and the AWS Marketplace, and directly with the providers themselves. The ambiguity in this space is not shrinking, and new commercial models get invented faster than systems absorb them. Key job responsibilities Own product definition. Lead the working backwards strategy, tenets, long-term goals, and documents for the provider and buyer experience, informed by provider feedback, competitive analysis, and business metrics. Turn commercial agreements into requirements. Each new provider arrives with terms we have not seen before. You will decide what the platform absorbs through configuration and what needs engineering, and you will be in the room before the terms are final. Define the product vision. Own the roadmap, the investment choices, and the experiments that take provider onboarding from months to days. Execute product planning and development. Own customer goals and business requirements for each release, keep implementation aligned to them, and own positioning. Lead launches. Own the plan for every new provider and for the Marketplace integration work, so that a launch needs no dedicated handholding. Lead operations. Own accuracy and timeliness as running metrics, drive detection of billing defects before a provider or customer sees them, and remove manual steps from the monthly cycle. Lead interaction with the technical team. Sit with engineering, help them make tradeoffs against customer requirements, and own testing of the experience. Report on the business. Track accuracy, latency, manual touchpoints, and onboarding time. Write the weekly and monthly reports and review them with leadership. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience 3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience 7+ years of full product life cycle experience 5+ years of P&L management and pricing experience 5+ years of creating written docs for development of new products experience 5+ years of enterprise security product experience 5+ years of product management in the cloud computing technology space experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market) Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
