Shift Leader

$24/hr - $30/hr + pooled tips · Potential for raises earned every 90 days - 60 months. Full-time & part-time.

The Lead owns the shift. You work a position alongside the team and run the room — one Lead per shift, fully empowered. No radioing a manager for approvals: if something needs to be made right for a customer, you make it right, on the spot.

This is a real leadership role with a real path forward — our Leads are the bench for future General Managers.

• Run the room — Set the team up before the rush hits, flex people where they're needed, and plan breaks around peak. The shift never gets caught flat-footed.
• Coach in real time — Give specific, immediate feedback — always private, always with respect. Great teams are built shift by shift, not at annual reviews.
• Hold the standard — Catch anything slipping during the shift, not after. Quality never leaves the station below standard on your watch.
• Own the clientele experience — Resolve any service issue on the spot. Hand off the shift clean, stocked, and communicated.
• Work the craft — You'll hold a scheduled position each shift, kitchen or floor, matched to your strengths.

• Exemplary Performance: Leads by example demonstrating outstanding performance. 
• Proven restaurant or hospitality leadership — you've trained and developed others, not just worked alongside them.
• Leadership by example: respect, candor, and support in every coaching moment.
• Ownership mindset — the shift's results, energy, and standards are yours.

• Starting pay: $24/hr, plus pooled tips — all tips are electronic, pooled, and shared by hours worked. Tips are always in addition to your wage.
• Raises aren't annual here — they're earned based on level of performance and responsibility. Our 90-day and 6-month performance and certification program means strong performers advance on a defined timeline. Show the standard, earn the raise.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. (Form I-9 within three business days of start).
• California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire (Mash reimburses).
• Availability for peak shifts, including weekends; schedules posted two weeks in advance.
• Adherence to Mash uniform, grooming, food safety, and confidentiality standards. Reasonable accommodations made for religious and medical needs.

With or without reasonable accommodation: stand and walk for the duration of a shift; lift and carry up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motion; work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with heat, ovens, and kitchen equipment; communicate clearly with customers and team.
