Overview Highlight is seeking a Washington, DC based Software Developer to join a new team supporting Department of Transportation. This role will build web applications and engage with non-technical stakeholders on project needs. Join us as a fellow employee owner! Responsibilities You will be responsible for optimization of backend performance within the web-based systems of an enterprise program management office. Qualifications Minimum 6 years’ experience in writing complex queries and designing efficient schemas. Proficiency in building scalable web applications and optimizing backend performance. Proven ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical partners, ensuring stakeholders understand the long‑term impact of technical debt on business goals. Bachelor’s degree in computer science. Ability to obtain/maintain a public trust background check.
