CustodianRole Type: Support Staff - Start Date: ImmediateDepartment/Subject: Maintenance - Position Type: Full-Time (12 Months)Grade: K-8Reports to: Operations ManagerPosition OverviewOur Belief in the Importance of Teachers At Legacy Prep, you will be part of a community of game-changing educators who are creating new generational legacies for historically underserved youth in Birmingham, Alabama.Primary Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Commitment to School and CultureVacuum or mop floorsEmpty trash receptaclesClean & Sanitize bathrooms, urinals, toilets, mirrors, & wet mop floorsImmediate clean-up of accidentsRemove trashEnsure common areas are cleaned (lobby, cafeteria, library, gym)Ensure adequate suppliesCommunicate with custodian staffAdditional Responsibilities:Be available for after school activities as neededEmployment QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: At least two years of custodial experience (preferred) Experience working in a school environmentSkillset: Ability to operate vacuum cleaner, floor cleaner, and other cleaning equipment Knowledgeable about chemicals needed to clean and sanitize Ability to lift 50 poundsMindset: Ability to self-direct and prioritize cleaning and sanitizing The ability to be flexible in a new school environment
