Strategy Director

Director For Strategic Planning-Regional NetworkIn conjunction with the Chief Strategy Officer and the Chief Clinical Strategy Officer, and supported by other members of the Department of Strategy, the Director for Strategic Planning-Regional Network will have lead responsibility for assisting Michigan Medicine leadership in the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans and business development initiatives for the Regional Network (inclusive of UM Health-Sparrow and UM Health-West). This individual will work with the Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Clinical Strategy Officer, other members of the Strategy Department, as well as AMC and Regional executive leadership teams to facilitate clinical and business integration efforts across the delivery network.In this role, the Director for Strategic Planning-Regional Network will, in conjunction with other Director-level leaders within the Department, develop, lead and mentor a team of strong strategists who are centralized to promote consistent approaches, definitions, and alignment with the strategic vision, while supporting planning efforts across the organization.This position requires frequent travel for meetings across the medical campus, administrative sites, and with affiliated systems and organizations.Required Qualifications*A Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Services Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.At least 10 years of experience in strategy functions within a multi-facility health systemDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-constituency organization.Strong understanding of the health care environment and trends, as well as the ability to translate trends into potential strategies.Deep understanding of the Lansing and Grand Rapids markets.Significant experience in health system enterprise strategic planning and service line planning, ideally including specific experience in a regional tertiary care center environment as well as experience with rural health settings.Experience with Michigan's CON regulations and requirements.Advanced written and oral communication and interpersonal skills that enable comfortable interaction with key stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives, physicians, operational leaders, and potential partners.Strong ability to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with success at simultaneously managing a variety of complex projects.Must be able to assume a high degree of independent functioning demonstrating prudent decision making, autonomy and flexibility.
