Principal Mechanical Engineer - Austin/Philadelphia/NYC

About the Role

Performs engineering and technical design activities for assigned projects, ensuring work meets company standards, schedules, budgets, and quality requirements. Develops low- to moderate-complexity engineering solutions, coordinates with senior engineers and other disciplines, and provides technical direction to junior staff and designers.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs, studies, analyses, and technical documents.
• Follow company technical policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Coordinate designs with Project Managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Delegate and review work performed by junior engineers, designers, and CAD staff.
• Assist with project budgets, schedules, proposals, presentations, and performance evaluations.
• Review shop drawings and record changes; perform construction inspections.
• Use engineering and design software to produce project deliverables.
• Support technical training and professional/client relationships.
• Deliver assigned work on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 10 years of related engineering/consulting experience.
• Experience leading design projects and overseeing engineering/design tasks.
