Director, Platform Software Engineering

Salary: $122,500 - 355,400 per year Requirements:

• We require a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• We expect 12+ years of experience building distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise software platforms.
• We require 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing multiple software engineering teams.
• We look for proven experience taking large-scale cloud platforms from concept through production.
• We need a strong technical foundation in distributed systems, Kubernetes, APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and modern software engineering practices.

• We will define the long-term architecture and technical direction for OCI Robotics Cloud.
• We will build the cloud platform for robot registration, identity, fleet management, mission orchestration, telemetry, digital twins, and software lifecycle management.
• We will establish shared APIs, service contracts, SDKs, and edge service frameworks that support robots from multiple vendors.
• We will lead development of an AI-assisted, spec-driven robot onboarding platform that generates service contracts, edge service specifications, SDKs, implementation guidance, and developer documentation.
• We will drive AI adoption across the software development lifecycle to improve engineering productivity and platform quality.
• We will recruit, mentor, and grow a world-class cloud engineering organization.
• We will foster a culture focused on engineering excellence, ownership, customer obsession, and continuous innovation.
• We will coach engineering managers and senior technical leaders while developing future organizational leadership.
• We will drive execution across architecture, planning, prioritization, delivery, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• We will partner closely with Product Management to define the roadmap and customer adoption strategy.
• We will collaborate across OCI AI, Cloud Infrastructure, Security, Networking, Developer Services, and strategic robotics partners.
• We will represent OCI Robotics Cloud in executive reviews, customer meetings, and strategic technology initiatives.
