Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room

Location: Avera St Luke's Hospital; Worker Type: Regular; Shift: Primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on‑call involvement (United States of America). Pay Range: $33.50 - $48.50; actual pay depends on experience. Position Highlights Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) Student Loan Repayment Program: up to $10,000 ($167/month) applied directly to loan principal. Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Monitors changing conditions and re‑evaluates care objectives. What You Will Do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicate the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other health care team members; coordinate with other providers; provide support and educate patients, families, and friends. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; confer with family; establish nursing diagnosis and objectives; define interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instruct patients and families on condition, medications, self‑care skills; answer questions; provide information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes; reviewing records; noting changing conditions; re‑evaluating care objectives and modifying the plan. Maintain safe and healthy environment: adhere to infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organizational standards and legal regulations; alert others to potential concerns. Document patient care services in charting systems. Maintain equipment: follow instructions, troubleshoot, keep supplies, perform preventive maintenance, ordering and repairs. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as directed by leadership. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work specified hours. Ability to perform all essential job functions, including visual acuity, effective communication, hearing, and understanding speech. Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice, active license. Preferred Education / Experience 1-3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
