Responsibilities The Social Work Associate provides social services under the direct supervision of a Lead Social Worker, Director of Clinical Services or designee to all inpatients/day hospital patients and works as a member of multidisciplinary treatment teams. Shift Options: Weekend Only 7am - 5:30pm 7:30am - 6pm 8am - 5:30pm Havenwyck Hospital (a UHS facility) Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission–accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, specializing in comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services for children, adolescents and adults. Position Summary The Social Work Associate is a member of multidisciplinary treatment teams and is responsible to the Lead Social Worker and the Director of Clinical Services. Duties Participates as an integral professional member of a multidisciplinary treatment team led by the psychiatrist. Facilitates the therapeutic milieu on the treatment unit. Performs social work interventions as directed by the treatment team, treating psychiatrist and/or Lead Social Worker. Obtains and assesses social history information and reports this to the treatment teams. Performs discharge planning/case management from the day of admission. Provides group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, substance abuse group/didactic, and/or couples therapy as appropriate. Acts as liaison for hospitalized patients with community agencies and resources. Attends treatment team conferences and completes treatment plans. Documents in the medical record. Experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit required. Employee must be in good standing (employment‑corrective action history, performance evaluation, etc.) to be considered for an internal transfer.
