Our client is an innovative nuclear technology company advancing next-generation reactor systems designed to provide reliable, carbon-free energy. As they continue to expand their engineering organization, they are seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of critical reactor and plant systems in a highly regulated environment.

The Opportunity:

This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in structural analysis, pressure vessel design, and nuclear or heavy industrial applications who wants to play a key role in the development of advanced reactor technology. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure critical structures and components meet rigorous safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design and analysis activities for pressure vessels, piping systems, equipment supports, and other critical structures
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ASME code compliance and engineering best practices
  • Perform and review engineering calculations to validate structural integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Evaluate designs against seismic, dynamic, environmental, and other loading conditions
  • Partner with mechanical, systems, and piping engineers to solve complex technical challenges
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to less experienced engineers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience within nuclear, power generation, industrial, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of ASME codes and standards, particularly related to pressure-retaining components and structural systems
  • Experience performing structural calculations, design reviews, and engineering analyses
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and support complex engineering programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license
  • Experience with structural, finite element, or stress analysis software
  • Exposure to advanced reactor, nuclear, or high-temperature energy systems
  • Familiarity with quality assurance standards such as NQA-1 or ISO 9001
  • Experience working within highly regulated engineering environments

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Join a company at the forefront of advanced nuclear technology development
  • Work on first-of-a-kind reactor systems and challenging engineering problems
  • Significant technical ownership and visibility within the organization
  • Competitive compensation, strong benefits, and long-term growth potential in a rapidly evolving clean energy sector
