Shop Manager

Landscapes by Terra, Inc. has Shop and Safety Coordinator positions available for efficient, independent, and experienced team members. You'll the Shop and Safety Coordinator is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility including organizing materials, managing inventory and running the safety program. The management of the safety program includes conducting safety audits and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. This role also oversees the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet and equipment to include maintaining machinery, planning repair activities, and developing maintenance procedures. This role ensures that the company's professional and production standards are maintained while delivering excellent service and developing employees. This role will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, creating quality work, and meeting company needs and expectations by keeping efficiency and quality in mind. . Description

Core Skills:

* Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

* Industry software (ie. LMN, Site Audit Pro, etc)

* Landscape design build core processes, means & methods

* Product/material knowledge in landscapes and/or horticulture

* Construction equipment usage

* Adaptable with a strong sense of urgency

* Ability to read and interpret site plans

* Ability to delegate, direct, and oversee multiple projects

Responsibilities:

* Maintain the shop, nursery, and parking grounds in clean, organized, and safe manner

* Manages material, procurement and yard organization to maximize efficiency and minimize waste

* Collaborate with Operations Manager and/or Production Managers to ensure jobsites are equipped and supported with required materials and equipment including delivery to jobsites

* Facilitates and oversees the crew dispatch each morning to maximize production and minimize downtime

* Maintain accurate and current inventory of all material that leaves and/or is returned to shop

* Ensure materials are returned in an organized and safe manner including chemicals

* Maintain accurate and current checkout/in inventory of equipment

* Ensure nursery plants, trees, etc are maintained in healthy manner including watering cycles, sun exposure, weeding, etc.

*Oversees the safety, maintenance and repair of fleet and equipment to maximize safety and production while minimizing repair costs

* Support warranty jobs as assigned by Operations Manager

* Organize and prepare for pickup emptied pallets by vendor

* Participate in company meetings including weekly all staff and Production Manager meetings

* Facilitates and manages the company safety program

* Ensure the appropriate and safe use of equipment and machinery and its maintenance and storage referring repairs to Mechanic as needed

*Serves on the Landscapes by Terra Management Team

* Utilize software to communicate and/or report effectively including LMN, Site Audit Pro, Team Engine, BambooHR, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc

* Mandatory participation in snow, ice, etc removal

* Duties and tasks as assigned

Education/Experience/Requirements:

High school diploma or GED certificate;

6+ years of mechanic experience;

4+ years of personnel and project management experience

Proficient technology and software skills including LMN

Valid Driver's License and insurable driving record

OSHA 10 certification

Commercial pesticide license

Physical Requirements:

* Lift, push, pull 50 pounds

* Work in all weather conditions and seasons

* Navigate diverse terrain
