This is an opportunity for a proven technical and project leader to help grow our Dallas mechanical engineering practice, strengthen client relationships, expand our project portfolio, and develop the next generation of engineering talent.You'll balance technical leadership, project delivery, business development, client engagement, and team development while partnering with senior leadership across RS&H.Why This Role Stands OutStep into a highly visible leadership role within a growing Dallas marketLead and develop a team of mechanical engineers while helping shape the direction of the practiceExpand RS&H's client relationships and presence throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth marketWork across high-visibility projects in aviation, healthcare, federal, commercial, and other complex building marketsPartner with senior leadership on strategic growth, recruiting, and market expansionBuild toward broader regional and practice leadership opportunitiesWhat You'll DoLead the Team & PracticeProvide leadership, mentorship, and direction to mechanical engineers and designersEstablish priorities, workflows, and technical standards that support a high-performing teamCoach and develop technical talent, project managers, and emerging leadersSupport recruiting, onboarding, performance development, and succession planningHelp identify opportunities to expand the team's technical capabilities and market reachFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and professional growthGrow the Business & Client RelationshipsDevelop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clientsRepresent RS&H in client meetings, industry events, professional organizations, and business development activitiesIdentify and pursue opportunities aligned with RS&H's strategic markets and capabilitiesPartner with leadership and business development teams on pursuit strategies, proposals, interviews, and presentationsHelp expand RS&H's presence and network throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth marketContribute to the long-term growth strategy for the Dallas mechanical engineering practiceLead Complex ProjectsProvide technical and project leadership on complex mechanical/MEP projectsOversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfactionApply advanced engineering concepts to solve complex project challengesGuide the development of plans, specifications, calculations, and construction documentsCollaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and other disciplines in an integrated design environmentPerform and oversee quality control reviews to ensure technical excellenceSupport construction administration, including field observations, contractor coordination, and resolution of technical issuesWhat You BringBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited programProfessional Engineer (PE) license in good standing10+ years of mechanical/MEP engineering experience with progressively increasing technical, project, and leadership responsibility; 12+ years of experience preferredDemonstrated experience leading mechanical engineering and/or multidisciplinary teamsStrong track record delivering complex building mechanical/MEP projectsExperience developing client relationships and contributing to business developmentExperience mentoring, developing, and retaining engineering talentStrong understanding of project financials, scope management, scheduling, and risk managementAdvanced knowledge of applicable building codes and standards, including IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable state/local requirementsExperience reviewing technical work for quality, accuracy, and complianceProficiency with AutoCAD and RevitStrong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to balance technical, operational, client, and business prioritiesWillingness to travel as needed for client meetings, project needs, business development, and team leadership Due to federal contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
