Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, and support other Pharmacy Department duties per policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions; assist with and coach technicians in system operation if PTCB certified; assist cashiers with pharmacy cash registers when applicable.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers by greeting them, offering product and service assistance, resolving questions, and building positive relationships with patients.
• Develop relationships with valuable customers and share customer service best practices with the team.
• Assist in pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision, including data entry, prescription filling, verifying information, and supporting workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality improvement policies; comply with Good Faith Dispensing requirements.
• Handle sales transactions on assigned cash registers and assist customers in locating OTC products.
• Assist with pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, storage, and asset protection activities.
• Support clinical services as needed and coordinate with Walgreens clinics and external providers.
• Support outreach to the local medical community to foster professional relationships and growth opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly Pharmacy Department environment and comply with company policies and codes of conduct.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as requested by Pharmacy Manager or Staff Pharmacist.

Training & Personal Development

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated program or state requirements; certification may be required as a condition for promotion.
• Attends training and pursues continuing education to maintain knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior Walgreens experience.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control and PTCB certification.
