Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring at least one year of recent ICU experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 18-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• 30-minute uninterrupted lunch break required

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum one year of recent ICU experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
• Experience caring for ventilated patients
• Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions including proper PPE use
• Experience with any charting system required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including management of ventilators, drips, and invasive lines
• Accepts local candidates within a 60-mile radius at a lower rate
• Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
