Foster Care Case Manager - Southeast Michigan

We are hiring a Foster Care Case Manager in Southeast Michigan. This full‑time role is based in our Detroit offices where you will provide case management and support services to children and families involved in the Michigan Foster Care System. Key Responsibilities Assume primary responsibility for all cases on your assigned caseload. Provide a range of case management services, including social casework, engagement, mentoring, and community referral. Collect, assess, and document client data and progress. Complete documentation, reports, statistics, and assignments within required timelines. Collaborate with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals whose roles impact clients. Prepare for and attend all scheduled court hearings on your caseload. Take primary responsibility for intake and initial placement services for all newly referred cases. Coordinate placement arrangements with caregivers, including transportation of children as needed. Provide more intensive supportive casework services to child birth families and caregivers during initial placement and replacement. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human‑service field. Licensed by the State of Michigan preferred. Minimum one year of experience in child welfare. Additional Requirements Participate in a 24‑hour availability system for clients, foster, and adoptive parents as required. Unrestricted valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served. Proof of current automobile insurance. Knowledge of social work, child welfare, human services, youth mentoring, counseling, and placement.
