Duties

The duties include:

• Serving as an advocate for Veterans and their families on a BHIP team to ensure comprehensive, seamless mental health services.
• Acting as a clinical resource/point-of-contact to Veterans and team/staff members.
• Conducting biopsychosocial assessments to determine care coordination and treatment needs.
• Providing consultation/education to Veterans and families on VA resources, community resources, Advance Directives, and VA benefits.
• Participating in treatment planning and discharge planning with other disciplines.
• Acting as a liaison between VA and community resources to promote seamless care.
• Maintaining familiarity and share responsibility for performance measures relevant to the BHIP team.
• Serving on Interdisciplinary Treatment Team(s).
• Providing crisis intervention when indicated.
• Providing wellness/prevention education and facilitating patient/family educational/bridging supportive sessions.
• Documenting interventions and activities in the patient's electronic health record.
• Participating in program planning and development.
• Improving professional skills through staff development projects, seminars, institutes, and training programs.
• Following national guidance and local policy and SOPs for the MHSL.
• Providing clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training.
• Serving as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees.
• Serving on Medical Center or Healthcare System, VISN, and/or National VA committees or task forces.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Pay

Competitive salary and regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off

37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year.

Parental Leave

After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy

After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
