Job Overview Job Title: Direct Support Professional – $500 sign‑on bonus – Crookston. Hourly Rate: $14.00 per hour. Shifts: Full time or part time – Monday‑Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM; Saturday and Sunday AM/PM. Work Location: Crookston, MN. Program Planning: Assist in the implementation of individual program plans and provide feedback at staff meetings. Documentation: Responsible for documenting and following through with individual programming; accurate documentation demonstrates progress. Daily Progress: Gather and record resident progress daily to show measurable outcomes. Areas of Support: Personal hygiene and grooming, including incontinence support Care of clothing and personal belongings Understanding and exercising rights in the community Fulfilling responsibilities in the community Personal awareness Routine health care Appropriate socialization Community orientation Recreation and leisure activities Meal preparation and planning Dietary oversight Housekeeping and home maintenance Developing interpersonal relationships Emergency procedures Personal program participation Anger management Money management Caring for personal property Behavioral intervention Addressing medical needs Resident Routines: Follow through with each resident’s established routines. Resident Rights: Ensure resident rights are protected and observed. Training and Meetings: Attendance at staff meetings and scheduled trainings is mandatory. Environment: Create and maintain a homelike, nurturing environment. Health, Safety, and Welfare: Protect the health, safety, and well‑being of each resident. Policies and Procedures: Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in training. Reporting Structure: Report to the Designated or Assistant Designated Coordinator. Physical Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly home environment. Household Chores: Follow assigned chore list to keep the home clean. Teamwork and Professionalism: Work together as a team; treat all individuals with respect and professionalism. Attendance and Punctuality: Scheduling priorities are the residents’ needs; accommodation may be made. Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of all resident and employee information. Other: Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Must obtain and maintain active First Aid and CPR certification; must obtain crisis de‑escalation or therapeutic intervention training when scheduled. Physical Requirements Typical work location with occasional work outdoors and in the community. Frequent sitting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, crawling, reaching, walking, driving, traveling, kneeling, and crouching. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge: Strong understanding of state and federal regulations, person‑centered philosophy, client service needs, medication administration protocols, emergency and disaster response procedures, mandated reporting requirements, and positive behavior support practices.
