Job Overview Travel Surgical Tech position at TLC Nursing in Machias, Maine. This role involves supporting surgical teams through a spectrum of procedures—including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, and a variety of specialty cases. You will assist general OR tasks, such as preparing the operating room, maintaining strict sterile technique, counting supplies, and anticipating the needs of surgeons and nurses. Key Responsibilities Pre‑assemble and arrange sterile instruments and supplies for the operating room. Maintain sterile fields and pass instruments to the surgical team during procedures. Count and verify all instruments and supplies before, during, and after case completion. Label specimens accurately and ensure proper documentation. Assist with patient positioning and facilitate the smooth intraoperative flow. Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate closely with surgeons, circulating nurses, and anesthesia personnel.
