General Manager - Logistics

Position Summary:

The role is responsible for leading all day‑to‑day business operations to ensure organizational performance, sustainable growth, and achievement of profitability targets. This includes strategic planning, people leadership, sales and account management, budgeting and forecasting, marketing, operations coaching, and full P&L management.

The position requires a proactive, forward‑thinking leader who can clearly communicate business objectives, align resources, mobilize teams, and drive exceptional financial and operational results.

Leadership

· Provide overall leadership and direction for the company to achieve established goals, objectives, and strategic plans.

· Set expectations for service excellence, employee engagement, and effective collaboration with customers, carriers, and business partners.

· Lead the development, coaching, and performance management of employees to support growth, retention, and succession planning.

· Partner with Stein Industries Shared Services to build strong back‑office capabilities, talent management processes, and effective annual planning.

Strategy & People

· Stay informed of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market conditions to refine organizational strategy and priorities.

· Maintain and evolve a rolling three‑year strategic plan that incorporates market insights, SWOT analysis, and strategic initiative evaluation.

· Communicate and reinforce a clear vision, mission, and value proposition to ensure company‑wide alignment.

· Ensure the right talent is in the right roles to support strategy execution and business growth.

· Establish organizational discipline through consistent communication, accountability, and leadership practices.

· Conduct annual performance and compensation reviews with direct reports; ensure consistent and equitable process execution across teams.

· Lead agent relationship management and growth plans for TEN’s agent channel.

Operations

· Communicate annual plans, goals, and strategic initiatives clearly and consistently across the organization.

· Coach operations team in best practices for carrier sales and broker account management.

· Lead budget reviews, KPI assessments, and operational scorecard meetings; ensure departmental leaders do the same with their teams.

· Collaborate with operations leadership to maintain a safe, reliable, and cost‑effective carrier network and negotiate competitive freight rates.

· Drive the adoption of new technologies, systems, and tools that improve operational efficiency and support scalable growth.

Sales & Marketing

· Identify and prioritize target markets and customer segments; develop services, pricing models, and go‑to‑market strategies to drive growth.

· Foster a growth‑driven culture grounded in clear communication, accountability, and transparent performance metrics.

· Ensure a customer‑centric approach supported by proactive support, outstanding service, and continuous improvement.

· Lead marketing efforts including collateral creation, digital strategy, website effectiveness, and brand awareness initiatives.

Financial Management

· Hold full P&L responsibility and oversee financial performance, budget management, and profitability targets.

· Provide oversight of accounts receivable, aging, and collections to maintain strong cash flow.

· Manage pricing strategies to win new accounts and for buy side/sell side operations, and ensure operating expenses are consistent with plan.

· Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews to assess performance against budget and key KPIs.

· Prepare and submit monthly revenue forecasts spanning the next three months.
