Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring at least 2 years of operating room experience and a WV or compact RN license.

Details

Operating room unit within an acute care hospital setting, 15 suites handling 55-70 cases per day.

Patient population includes all surgical procedures with same day and overnight stays.

Day shift schedule of 8s or 10s, with hours such as 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5.

Occasional midnight shifts may be required to support operational demands.

Rotating weekend requirement including one 8-hour shift (7-3 Sat or Sun) and one 24-hour on-call shift.

1-2 secondary on-call shifts per schedule (24-hour call from 7A-7A).

Call response time of 30 minutes required.

Floating required to the OR holding area.

Currently uses Sunrise EMR, transitioning to EPIC.

Requirements

Active WV or compact RN license required.

BLS certification required.

Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience required.

Strong IV skills required.

Surgical care knowledge and robotics experience required.

Preop scrubbing required for RNs.

Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration.

Additional Information

Provide perioperative nursing care in a surgical center/preop environment.

Scrubs provided by the facility.

Unit and department-specific orientation provided for the surgical center/preop area.

Must reside within 50 miles of the facility, no local travelers accepted.

Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying.

Travelers are limited to working within WVU for no longer than one year cumulatively before requiring a 2-year break.
