Treasury Analyst

The Treasury Analyst will play a crucial role within our client's U.S. Finance organization, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. They will be responsible for various treasury and cash management activities, insurance and risk management, as well as supporting accounting and government reporting functions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills.

Core Responsibilities

Treasury and Cash Management:

• Serve as the primary administrator for the U.S. Treasury Management system, managing authorized users, and ensuring proper authorizations and controls are in place.
• Administer U.S. credit card and discounting programs.
• Address transaction and bank-related issues by liaising with banks and business operations.
• Review and release letter of credit applications, maintain necessary files, and reconcile open liabilities.
• Conduct monthly review of bank account analysis and fees, coordinating fee allocation to divisions.
• Provide monthly reporting of cash balances, letter of credit liability, and interest to Group headquarters.
• Prepare estimated quarterly consolidated financial statements for bank reporting and covenant compliance.
• Complete surveys related to treasury and banking.
• Administer the merchant services program.
• Assist with payment processing for royalties, debt, interest, and insurance areas.
• Support ad hoc Treasury projects and initiatives as required.

Insurance and Risk Management:

• Gather and compile information for casualty insurance programs (workers' compensation, medical, automobile, boiler & machinery) in the U.S., including completing required applications for brokers.
• Participate in insurance planning meetings for policy year coverage.
• Perform retrospective analysis of workers' compensation claims and reconcile liability accounts for each policy year.
• Develop in-house annual insurance premium allocation by division.
• Participate in bi-annual workers' compensation claims review meetings and oversee provisions.
• Coordinate payroll audit activities for Workers' Comp & Automobile programs.
• Oversee Certificate of Insurance management and conduct annual reviews.
• Handle day-to-day matters with brokers and third-party administrators.

Accounting and Other Responsibilities:

• Support month-end reporting requirements, including journal entries, account reconciliations, forecasts, and budgets.
• Assist in the consolidation of U.S. data for government reporting and bank compliance reporting.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably including experience with bank Treasury Management Systems.
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across a decentralized organization and with external parties.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to think independently and provide suggestions for improvement.
