Product Designer

Founded in 2011 with the brand Ship Sticks, we originally focused on offering a concierge experience for traveling golfers, alleviating the need to lug bulky, expensive, damage-prone gear like golf clubs onto airplanes. Over the years, the company has expanded its specialized services through additional sister brands, including Ship Skis and Ship Camps. Our next big brand offering is Ship&Play, where our goal is to make effortless travel a reality. Our white-glove services offer an affordable and reliable alternative to carrying, checking, and claiming luggage or other cumbersome items. Our family of brands specialize in hassle-free, door-to-door shipping of golf clubs, luggage, ski gear, and more across 180 countries worldwide. Design experiences people love. Solve thorny problems. Change how people travel. We’re looking for a Product Designer who cares deeply about the craft of product experience and the impact it can make to millions of people. Someone who sees design as not just visuals, but as a driver of trust, product impact and business growth. This role is for a builder, a systems thinker and self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can shape it into elegant, intuitive solutions. You’ll shape experiences across our family of brands while establishing a product / UX design practice that will help us build a customer-first and product centric culture in the company. What You’ll Do Product & User Experience Design Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that reflect each brand’s identity while contributing to a cohesive ecosystem. Design responsive, accessible experiences across web, mobile (web and native app), and transactional email. Elevate key touchpoints (order confirmations, password resets, etc.) into moments that build clarity and trust. Balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility in every solution. Use AI tools to accelerate user experience research, ideation, prototyping and usability testing. Stay current on emerging AI capabilities in UX and identify practical ways to apply them. Explore how AI can enhance the design process and the end-user experience and establish best-practices across the company. Cross-Functional Collaboration in small, dynamic teams Partner with Product to translate insights and strategy into thoughtful design solutions. Work closely with Engineering to ensure scalable, high-quality implementation. Collaborate with Marketing on landing pages and communication touchpoints. Advocate for users and elevate design thinking across the whole company. Experimentation & User Experience Research Design and support A/B tests (e.g., Optimizely) to validate ideas and improve outcomes. Use data, user feedback, and AI-assisted analysis to iterate quickly and intelligently. Conceive, plan and execute user experience and usability research on platforms such as Usertesting.com, including moderated and unmoderated tests, focus groups and user surveys Design Systems & Operations Own and organize our Figma workspace for clarity and scalability. Contribute to and evolve design systems, patterns, and documentation. Create structure and process where needed to help the team move faster and better. You experiment thoughtfully and understand both the potential and limitations of AI in product experiences by applying best practices and sound judgment to refine and enhance AI-powered outputs. Skilled & Strategic 6+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or related fields. Deep understanding of user-centered design, usability, accessibility, and responsive design. Experience designing web and transactional email experiences. Strong communicator who can clearly articulate design rationale. Bonus Experience with Optimizely or similar experimentation tools. Startup or growth-stage company experience. This is a role for a product designer who wants impact — not just tasks.
