Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and technically driven Senior Specifier to join our team. The Senior Specifier acts as a regional expert and mentor in architectural specifications. In addition to producing specifications for large or complex projects, they provide oversight, guidance, and quality control for the work of regional project specifiers, as well as help evolve firm standards while ensuring rigorous and consistent specifications execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary specifier on large-scale or high-risk projects, working directly with project teams to compose project specifications ensuring internal drawing/specifications coordination and project compliance with laws, regulations, and codes in coordination with global project requirements.
• Mentor project leadership in the development of individual project specifications.
• Attend client and consultant meetings with focus on specifications.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and Quality Control oversight for Project Specifiers across the region/practice area.
• Remain current and research innovative industry systems and products to ensure construction documents include accurate, up-to-date products and systems.
• Assist in workload distribution and specifier assignment for regional needs.
• Assist with Master Specifications maintenance in the form of relaying regional updates, issues, and innovations to the Director of Specifications.
• Coordinate with Digital Practice to improve linkages between project models and specifications.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is strongly preferred. Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) and Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) certifications are a plus.
• 5-8 years of experience within an architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) environment or dedicated specifications role preferred.
• Experience using SpecLink or similar specifications software preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and consistency in documentation and project deliverables.
