Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMU), ensuring optimal patient outcomes through clinical expertise and compassionate support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality inpatient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including titratable drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, and Heparin, following physician orders and protocols.
• Interpret telemetry strips to monitor cardiac rhythms accurately, coordinating with Tele Techs as needed.
• Manage ventilator equipment, including high flow and BiPAP devices, in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, including chest pain, arrhythmias, CHF, post-procedure care, and other intermediate acuity conditions.
• Assist with bedside procedures such as removing radial bands and managing post-cath care.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the EMR system.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with recent experience in IMU, PCU, or Stepdown units.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS; NIHSS certification preferred.
• Ability to titrate IV drips and manage ventilator therapy effectively.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Flexible with weekend and holiday shifts, adhering to staffing requirements.
