The Area Business Lead reports to the Sr. Business Director and plays a vital role within a regional area, possessing the autonomy to tailor strategies that meet unique local market needs. Purpose The Area Business Lead is responsible for providing strategic direction to cross-functional teams, overseeing the creation and execution of a comprehensive ecosystem business plan. This role champions engagement with key healthcare systems to generate mutual value for Otsuka, our customers, and their patients. Job Responsibilities Collaborate with the ecosystem cross-functional team to create and implement strategies designed to enhance customer satisfaction, improve outcomes for patients, and foster business opportunities for Otsuka. Drive the development and execution of the ecosystem commercial strategy. Lead a team of Neuroscience Specialists to promote clinical demand, ultimately improving experiences for both patients and customers. Adapt and implement regional plans geared towards achieving patient-centered objectives, performance targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Monitor market trends to identify best practices within the healthcare ecosystem, integrating innovative processes into Otsuka. Aggregate insights from the field force and other sources to inform regional business planning. Coach Neuroscience Specialists on customer engagement plans that respond effectively to market dynamics. Partner with ecosystem collaborators to craft and execute strategies that enhance customer engagement. Build and maintain relationships within the healthcare ecosystem to better understand and meet customer needs. Engage with senior stakeholders in Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) to solidify partnerships focused on patients. Leverage existing relationships to gain insights and drive strategies that improve patient outcomes. Support collaborative efforts across roles to achieve shared goals focused on patient engagement and satisfaction. Commit to conducting business with the utmost ethical and professional standards while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Foster a high-performance, patient-centered culture within the ecosystem. Encourage a collaborative environment that prioritizes customer solutions to continuously enhance engagement and satisfaction. Provide leadership and coaching to motivate your team to meet business objectives. Ensure that regional sales goals align with the organization's long-term strategic aims. Analyze business opportunities to recommend strategies for maximizing results. Regularly assess the customer experience and utilize insights to refine engagement strategies. Create a cross-functional environment that encourages customer collaboration and solution development. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; MBA or similar graduate degree preferred. Experience in leading account or partnership managers, with a strong record of executing account plans. Cross-functional experience in commercial life sciences or related sectors engaging with key healthcare players is advantageous. Ability to navigate and thrive in a transforming and ambiguous environment is preferred. Proven experience in coaching and mentoring professionals to help them achieve their goals. Track record of meeting or exceeding financial targets and qualitative goals. Knowledge of strategy development, including contracting strategies, is highly desirable. Experience in field sales management or marketing within the Neuroscience or Nephrology sectors is a plus. Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, legal, and regulatory landscape. Compensation Minimum $157,700.00 - Maximum $235,750.00, plus an incentive opportunity. Actual pay will be influenced by various factors including job experience and specific skills.
