Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible for implementing crop plans, as amended from time to time. As part of the Management Team, provide inputregardingthe development of the annual cropplans.
  • Provide yield, cropand other pertinent information to VP of Cultivation during budget development process.
  • Identifyandoptimizegrowing practices to achievehighestproduct qualitystandard.
  • Development/testing of improved methods and equipment to resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement growing strategies and tactics plans in alignment with company vision and strategic direction.
  • Assistfromgrowingperspective in the design and development of new software programs that may be needed.Oversee software updates and communicate anypossible issuesrelated to the growing department.
  • Improvecostand maximize delivery.
  • Collaborate with the operations and site management to achieve smoothwork flowand effective achievement of the business plans.
  • Set the highest possible standards for quality, efficiency, productivity, cooperation, and behavior.
  • Trouble-shootingand diagnosing unknown crop health and damage problems.
  • Monitor and control the computerized greenhouse environments.
  • Monitor irrigation schedule and CO2 settings.
  • Develop and implement fertilization/irrigation programs for different crops.
  • Manage nutrient and environmental systems tomaintainspecifiedleveland conditions.
  • Leadgreenhousestours with consultant and growing team personnel.
  • Send water, disease samples, tissueto a laboratory as needed.
  • Ensure proper crop labor planning and direction.
  • Monitor all the records of the crop work.
  • Monitor quality of crop work, sanitation, workerhygieneand practices. Follow up with the Labor supervisors to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
  • Jointly with Operation Manager/Labor Manageridentifyandoptimizelabor priorities for inter-planting periods.
  • For this position you will need to complete modules: Introduction Horticulture, Water-Introduction ,Irrigation and Fertilization, and How to set up an irrigation strategy with the Priva Connectwhich includes successfully passingthem withinthe first 6 months. Then will continue to complete Priva Modules as assigned every 6 months after
