Manager of Data Engineering

Our client is seeking a Manager of Data Engineering to lead their data platform team and drive the evolution of their enterprise‑scale streaming data infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers specializing in streaming technologies. Design and implement scalable, event‑driven data architectures using the Confluent Platform. Establish best practices for stream processing, governance, and platform reliability. Oversee performance, capacity, and cost optimization across Kafka clusters. Partner with business and technology teams to deliver impactful data solutions. Drive modernization initiatives and integrations with platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. 2+ years of people management experience in technical teams. 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering with distributed systems. Expertise in Confluent Platform, Apache Kafka, Airflow, and PySpark. Strong understanding of real‑time data processing, event‑driven architectures, and performance tuning.
