Attorney – Enforcement & Trial Position title: Attorney – Enforcement & Trial – (26140941) Overview Join the Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance (CSI) as an attorney focusing on prosecuting criminal and administrative fraud cases, and representing the agency in civil matters. Responsibilities Manage cases from referral through final judgment, including drafting pleadings and briefs, and representing CSI at trial. Prosecute administrative actions related to insurance and securities fraud and represent CSI in potential appeals. Represent CSI in civil litigation. Collaborate with state and federal partners to prosecute complex white‑collar criminal cases. Exercise meaningful autonomy in casework, supported by a collegial team that values excellence and public service. Provide advice to CSI’s management on insurance and securities cases. Qualifications Membership in good standing in the State Bar of Montana, or ability to become a member by an agreed‑upon date. Exceptional legal research and writing skills. The ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check. Preferred: 4+ years of experience, including experience as lead counsel at trial. Preferred: 2+ years of experience with insurance or securities law.
