Schedule: 100% Onsite | Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-3:30 PM (some flexibility) Duration: 12-month contract Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer to support the Manufacturing Equipment team by developing supplier strategies, managing sourcing activities, and negotiating agreements for logistics automation and material handling equipment. This role is responsible for building strong supplier relationships while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery objectives are achieved. This position partners closely with engineering teams, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to manage RFQs, evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and support purchasing activities that keep manufacturing operations running efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong procurement background who enjoys supplier strategy, negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration in a manufacturing environment. Job Duties Develop and execute supplier strategies for logistics automation and material handling equipment. Lead sourcing activities, including developing, issuing, and managing Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements while balancing cost, quality, delivery, and service expectations. Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings. Review and approve purchase orders, requisitions, and sourcing recommendations. Partner with engineering and internal stakeholders to support purchasing initiatives and supplier selection. Resolve supplier performance issues, delivery concerns, and quality-related challenges. Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations and recommend contract modifications when needed. Support just-in-time inventory initiatives and purchasing strategies. Prepare presentations and communicate supplier strategies, sourcing recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders. Occasionally travel to manufacturing facilities throughout Illinois and Indiana to support supplier and project activities. If interested in more details, please apply! #J-18808-Ljbffr
